ABOUT

When our clients approached us to help redesign the interiors of the renowned 89 Harbord Street—an iconic address that has formerly housed the Harbord Room, Cafe Cancan, and, most recently, Piccolo Piano—we were excited to take on the challenge. Our goal was to maintain the historical essence while creating something fresh and new. The space featured beautiful, existing panelled walls, mirrors, and coffered ceilings, all of which we aimed to preserve as a tribute to its history and to save the budget where possible.

The design concept is inspired by the warmth and familiarity of memories shared over meals with loved ones. We envision the space as a canvas for enjoying exceptional food, cocktails, wine, and great company, all accompanied by casual yet attentive service. Our colour palette consists of blues, browns, terracotta, and yellow, complemented by flamed ash and oak woods throughout the venue. Natural tones serve as the foundation for all our selections at Bar Eugenie, creating quiet moments that leave a lasting impression after multiple visits—especially in the small washrooms!
